LEAVENWORTH MAN CHARGED WITH PRODUCING CHILD PORN

KANSAS CITY, KAN. - Anthony Baker, 35, Leavenworth, Kan., was indicted Thursday on one count of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. The production is alleged to have occurred from on or about August 2005 to November 2006 in Leavenworth, Kan. The possession is alleged to have occurred Nov. 20, 2006, in Leavenworth.

Baker is a former librarian at Muncie Elementary School in Leavenworth.

If convicted, he faces a penalty of not less than 15 years and not more than 30 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on the production charge, and a maximum penalty of 10 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the on the possession charge.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Martin are working on the case.

As in any criminal case, a person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictments filed merely contain allegations of criminal conduct.
