Sept. 23, 2008 TOPEKA MAN GETS 12+ YEARS IN PRISON FOR ROBBERYTOPEKA, KAN. – Randall Wayne Thomas, 54, Topeka, has been sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for an armed robbery at a McDonald’s restaurant, U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren announced today. In May, Thomas pleaded guilty to one count of robbery of a business engaged in interstate commerce. In his plea, he admitted that in 2006 he and co-defendant Tramaine Beadles, 25, Topeka, planned to rob the McDonald’s restaurant at 3530 N.W. 36th in Topeka, where Beadles was an employee. On Oct. 22, 2006, Thomas committed the robbery. Afterwards, he gave Beadles a share of the stolen money. Co-defendant Beadles pleaded guilty to the robbery and other crimes. In April, he was sentenced to 55 months. Melgren commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot for their work on the case.
