MISSOURI MAN CHARGED IN OVERLAND PARK BANK ROBBERY
Grand Juries in Topeka and Kansas City, Kan., Also Return Indictments in Drug Trafficking, Firearms and Immigration Cases

TOPEKA, KAN. – Troy Robbins, 40, Raytown , Mo., is charged with robbing the Bank of the West located inside the Hy Vee grocery store at 8900 West 135th Street in Overland Park on Aug. 7, 2008, U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren announced Friday.

In a criminal complaint filed earlier in the week, investigators said Robbins told the teller at Bank of the West that he had a gun in his pocket.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. The Federal Bureau of Investigation worked on the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sheri McCracken is prosecuting.
