TOPEKA WOMAN CHARGED WITH EMBEZZLING $350,000 TOPEKA, KAN. – Ceandrea M. Tyson, 37, Topeka, appeared in federal court Tuesday on charges of embezzlement. Tyson made her initial appearance on the charges before U.S. Magistrate Judge K. Gary Sebelius. She was released on a $10,0000 unsecured bond. Tyson is charged with embezzling $350,000 while she was an employee of Commerce Bank & Trust in Topeka. The thefts are alleged to have occurred from June 2002 to December 2006. If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison and a fine up to $1 million. The Federal Bureau of Investigation prepared the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Hathaway is prosecuting.
