FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KC MAN INDICTED FOR CRACK COCAINE

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – John F. Wood, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Kansas City, Mo., man was indicted by a federal grand jury today for possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Cornelius E. Brown, 32, of Kansas City, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute five grams or more of crack cocaine on May 11, 2007, in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City.

Today’s indictment replaces a federal criminal complaint that was filed against Brown on May 11, 2007.

Wood cautioned that the charge contained in this indictment is simply an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney David A. Barnes. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department.
