SPRINGFIELD MAN SENTENCED FOR 17 YEARS FOR INTERNET CHILD PORN
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Springfield, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for possessing and transporting child pornography.
Leslie Paul Pittock, 62, of Springfield, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Ortrie D. Smith this afternoon to 17 years and six months in federal prison without parole, followed by supervised release for the rest of his life. The court also ordered Pittock to forfeit to the government a desktop computer that was used to commit the offenses.
On May 9, 2006, Pittock pleaded guilty to transporting child pornography over the Internet. Pittock also admitted that he was in possession of a computer hard drive on Sept. 15, 2005, that contained child pornography that had been sent over the Internet.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rose A. Barber. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Springfield, Mo., Police Department.
