NEWS RELEASE OFFICE OF THE UNITED STATES ATTORNEY WESTERN DISTRICT OF MISSOURI BRADLEY J. SCHLOZMAN FEBRUARY 27, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BELTON MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNKANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Belton, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for receiving child pornography over the Internet. Jeffery A. Ray, 41, of Belton, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Gary A. Fenner this afternoon to eight years and one month in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered Ray to forfeit to the government three computers and three hard drives that were used to commit the offense. On June 12, 2006, Ray pleaded guilty to using the Internet to download child pornography to his home computer on Dec. 10, 2004. Among the files Ray downloaded, Schlozman said, was a video clip entitled “Baby J. Mine” that depicted, among other things, full sexual intercourse between an adult male and a prepubescent female. Ray admitted that he downloaded more than 600 images of child pornography, often obtaining them by subscribing to child pornography Web sites. Those images included depictions of sadism, bondage, and violent conduct with children, some of them under the age of 12. This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katharine Fincham. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
