JEFFERSON CITY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO POSSESSING CHILD PORN

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Jefferson City, Mo., man pleaded guilty in federal court today to possessing child pornography.

Terry Lee Pratt, 55, of Jefferson City, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Scott O. Wright this morning to the charge contained in a Nov. 4, 2004, superseding indictment.

By pleading guilty today, Pratt admitted that he was in possession of computer floppy discs containing child pornography on Aug. 19, 2004.

Under federal statutes, Pratt could be subject to a sentence of up to five years in federal prison without parole, plus a fine up to $250,000. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence E. Miller. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the State Technical Assistance Team and the Jefferson City, Mo., Police Department.
