Wood, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a West Des Moines, Iowa, man was sentenced in federal court today for armed robberies of seven banks in Missouri and Iowa. Geoffrey Alan White, 34, of West Des Moines, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Ortrie D. Smith this afternoon to 10 years in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered White to pay $41,937 in restitution to the banks. On March 16, 2007, White pleaded guilty to seven charges of armed bank robbery contained in three separate indictments. White admitted to the following armed bank robberies:
