OVERBOOK MAN CHARGED WITH BANK ROBBERY

Other indictments include Lawrence bomb threat case

TOPEKA, KAN. - Michael Byron Hanson, 26, Overbrook, Kan., is charged with one count of bank robbery and one count of using a firearm during a crime of violence. According to the indictment, on May 4, 2007, Hanson robbed the First National Bank of Harveyville, 197 Main Street, Harveyville, in Wabaunsee County, Kan.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on the bank robbery charge, and a penalty of not less than 7 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the firearms charge. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Department, and other agencies worked on the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Hough is prosecuting.
