FORMER AIR FORCE WIFE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TWO MINORS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that the former wife of a serviceman stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base was sentenced in federal court today for sexually abusing two minors.

Hayley Kristine Turpin, 38, of Clinton, Mich., was sentenced by U.S. District Nanette K. Laughrey this morning to three years in federal prison without parole.

On Nov. 17, 2005, Turpin pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse of a minor. At the time of those offenses, Turpin was married to a serviceman stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base but has since divorced. Turpin admitted that she performed fellatio on a 13-year-old boy who was in her custody (visiting her children in their residence on Whiteman Air Force Base) between June 4 and Sept. 1, 2002. Turpin also admitted that she performed fellatio on a 14-year-old boy who was in her custody (visiting her children in their residence on Whiteman Air Force Base) between Sept. 19 and Dec. 20, 2002.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katharine Fincham. It was investigated by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Whiteman Air Force Base, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
