FULTON MAN INDICTED FOR CHILD PORN

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Fulton, Mo., man was indicted by a federal grand jury today for possessing child pornography.

David Matthew McCormick, 20, of Fulton, was charged in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Jefferson City. The indictment alleges that McCormick was in possession of child pornography on April 27, 2005.

Today’s indictment also includes a forfeiture allegation, which would require McCormick to forfeit to the government any property used to commit the alleged offense, including two computer hard drives, a compact disk, a computer tower and a cellular camera telephone.

Schlozman cautioned that the charge contained in the indictment is simply an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence E. Miller. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Fulton, Mo., Police Department, the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team and the Missouri Division of Family Services.
