FORMER POLICE OFFICER, DISBARRED ATTORNEY INDICTED FOR BANK ROBBERYKANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that a former Indiana police officer and disbarred attorney has been indicted by a federal grand jury for robbing Jefferson Bank South in Jefferson City, Mo. Clifton Bruce Davidson, Jr., 41, of Holland, Mich., was charged in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City on Thursday. Davidson worked as a police officer in Elkhart, Ind., then as an attorney in Indianapolis, Ind., before losing his law license. The federal indictment alleges that Davidson stole $13,624 from Jefferson Bank South on Jan. 25, 2005. Schlozman cautioned that the charge contained in the indictment is simply an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence E. Miller. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Cole County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department, the Jefferson City, Mo., Police Department and the Phoenix, Ariz., Police Department.
